Two fantastic gigs in Poland, it was so lovely to be back. Both were intense and dramatic affairs, thank you so much to everyone who came and really made for special nights with their appreciation and warmth. Thanks also to Hans for tour management, those who worked and organised the shows at Firlej and Dragon, Aisha and Kuba, and Maciek and Aurel for the gigs and the joy of playing together. Job Karma’s new album Punkt is great, as is the video work they project live behind them when they play. Was lovely to share a stage. Sorry to the good people of Poznań that I had no new (or indeed any) CDs to sell on the night – the good people of Wrocław had bought them all within an hour of me finishing the show at Firlej theatre. There’s some nice video footage from both nights knocking about on YouTube, care of AlterNation and others.
And so it was back to Sheffield, courtesy of the ever-charming Ryanair, and more-or-less straight onstage at the Dyonisis album launch. Running on empty, I was, but what a stunning gig also! I like the way the audience ran off a little when I leapt off stage to play to them intimately ;) Okay, so I’m at my most scary when I’m running on empty. Dyonisis finished the night off with a rather large bang, to say the least. Full credit to them for the night, and for such a good bill; I managed to catch Fallen Trees and Niteworks, both of whom are superb. Lots of superlatives thrown about in this blog, but I mean them all sincerely, was a scintillating few days. Back to the reality of putting Star Wood Brick Firmament CDs into envelopes and posting them off, then…
